Glaux Records takes its name from the owl (glaux), the bird sacred to Athena in ancient Greece. The word glaux also describes the shining colour of Athena’s eyes – a symbol of clarity, learning, and insight. For us, it reflects a way of approaching music: thoughtful, attentive, and always in dialogue with knowledge. Our work grows out of a conviction that the centre of any musical project must be the composer and the composition itself. At Glaux we believe that artists shine most brightly when they place their skills and imagination at the service of the score, bringing the music to life through insight, technique, and sensitivity.
